It all started when I was six,
I was fascinated by the six yard,
Which my mother used to put on her
Though I didn't knew how she can put,
She looked splendid but with grace.
When I wore six yards for the first time,
I was looking beautiful,
I was only six at that time,
And my mom asked me not to do that again,
I got angry.
Again I wore six yards,
I was looking gorgeous,
I was only 12 at that time,
And was preparing for a function,
And my mom asked me not to do that again,
I got angry.
The charm of the six yards,
Made me to wear that again,
I was looking stunning,
I was only 18 at that time,
And I was preparing for my farewell,
And my mom asked me not to do that again,
I got angry.
I wore that for the last time in my parents' home,
I was looking attractive,
And I was feeling nervous,
I was getting ready for my marriage,
But this time, mom did not asked me not to do that again,
This time she just smiled and gave some words of wisdom,
My soul was sobbing, but my heart was upbeat with the celebrations,
I was not angry.
Now I wear it daily,
Today I understood the importance,
Now I empathised the responsibility,
Now I realised the real pleasure,
And the pangs it brings,
The strongest can wear it,
And the time makes me strong.
But still I am angry,
As why I was not able to understand this earlier,
How can I be so dumb?
Why always I understand so late,
...Oh my lord!!!
Let me be the girl in my next life,
But let me not be short tempered,
Let me not be so arrogant,
Be at my side and always show me the path,
...Oh my Child!!! ...Oh my Child!!! ...Oh my Child!!!
I am always with you,
I always show you the path,
I am there to take your sorrows and pangs,
You just see me in six yards!!!

Good one sirjee... could you share some of your pictures wearing six yards?
@Righty: Sir this poem is narrated by a girl, who understands in the later part of life the importance of wearing a saree and the responsibilities it brings to her.
I doesn't wear saree ;) :p
I see.. This is what confused me: 'Let me be the girl in my next life,'
